The MasterChef and the Main Ingredient

It can be sweet, sour, salty, bland, tasty, or bitter. You have to create that balance in the ingredients to make sure you get the taste that you are going for. To make sure its quality is topnotch, you also have to have the best ingredients. However, slipups can happen. We might end up putting too much salt, or too much sugar. It happens, and it is inevitable.

I thought to myself, preparing, or cooking food is the perfect analogy for life and relationships. You see, life also has its tastes. We have the bitter taste of failure and the sweetness of success. The bland taste of mediocrity and the sour taste of envy. Therefore, we have control over how our life would taste like. But, then again, slipups are there because humans are not fool-proof.

So, what if we let the MasterChef handle the heat for us? What if we hand the control over to someone perfect?

I am talking about letting God handle things for us. I have made decisions in my life that I later on regretted. I suffered under an abusive husband all because I jumped the gun thinking he was the missing ingredient. We always think that we know what’s best for us, and we are in control of the point wherein we learn our lessons the hard way. Fortunately, God is a loving Father, and it breaks his heart to see us suffer. This is when He takes over and introduces Himself as the MasterChef and the Main Ingredient. He is and will always be the only one to complete us. Our aspirations, our relationships, our plans are all side dishes.

Every plan that we execute without consulting Him can lead us to our demise. If only I have never left God’s side, I would have not suffered. Things worked out in the end though. I am happily married, and I found the man who gave me the love I deserve. Does that mean I am perfect after all? No, I was a beautiful mess but God never left me in the dark because He loves me.

The perfect taste of my life is because of Him, the MasterChef, and the main ingredient.
